PURPOSE: To consider making reappointments to the Orange County Board of Adjustment.
BACKGROUND: The Clerk's office has received recommendations for reappointments for
Dawn Brezina and Thomas Brown. If reappointed they will be serving their second full term
ending 6/30/2012.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making reappointments to the Orange County Board of
Adjustment.

12E: LETTER concerning the reappointment of Board of Adjustment members
Dear Commissioner Foushee:
Staff has been asked to draft a letter concerning the reappointment of three (3) existing
Orange County Board of Adjustment members. Speciftcally, staff is referring to the possible
reappoint of Mr. Thomas Brown, Dr. Dawn Brezina, and Mr. Tony Whitaker to the Board of
Adjustment as regular members to serve an additional three (3) year term.
Staff can comfortably say that all three (3} members have made themselves available to
attend the majority of Board of Adjustment meetings and are active participants in discussions
relating to various matters brought before the Board. Please see the attached attendance records
for the various Board meetings.
Staff understands that all advisory board members serve at the pleasure of the Board of
County Commissioners and that, ultimately, it is within your discretion to appoint new members
as so desired. Staff thanks you for the opportunity to comment on this matter and will be more
than happy to address any questions or concerns you may have.
