BACKGROUND: In January 2008 the Board authorized a contract with Risk Management Associates (RMT) to assist in the development of an enterprise-wide security solution which could be utilized in all County facilities. The resulting specifications were solicited via a Request for Proposal, which the Board awarded to ProNet Systems of Raleigh, NC on June 24, 2008. The subsequent contract with ProNet Systems established per unit pricing for future building needs and forms the basis of pricing for the work at the Office Building and Library proposed in this abstract. The proposed systems for the two buildings include door access card readers and security cameras in and around the facilities that are equal in design to the systems located at Gateway and the Justice Facility. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Total cost of this action, if approved by the Board, is $73,896.81. Sufficient funds are allocated in the project budget for the County Campus to cover this expenditure. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board authorize the purchase of Smartcard and camera security systems new office building and Library from ProNet Systems, Inc. of Raleigh, NC; and authorize the Director of Purchasing and Central Services to execute the necessary paperwork. Two single mode fibers are to be made available from the New Office IT Room to the Justice Center IT Room.. 2. All 115 VAC power is to be provided by others. We will require one (1) 20 Amp Circuit (with UPS back-up) at Room 010 basement level and Room 320 on the thh•d floor. 3. Pricing is based on the Justice Center Itemized pricing plus the infrastructure support items. Two (2; additional doors are for the Judges exit Level three (3) Justice Center. 4.
