HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 19741216THE MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS - December 16, 19 ~c~ The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, December 16, 1974, at 7:00 P.M., in the Commissioners Room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, N. C. Members Present: Chairman Garrett, and Commissioners Gustaveson, Whitted and Pinney. Members Absent: Commissioner Walker. S. M. Gattis, County Administrator, Bill Laws, Assistant Tax Supervisor, Archie Kelly, Tax Appraiser, and Wesley Bradford, Tax Appraiser, were also present. The following property owners appeared to appeal the appraised value of the indicated property. Simon F. Terrell TWSP. Chapel Hill Kenneth B. Garrison, Jr. Hillsborough J. C. Whitmore Cheeks (for son, H. A. Whitmore) previously assesed in Alamance County. Union Grove Methodist Ch. Chapel Hill (C. W. Davis) Eastowne Associates Chapel Hi11 (Edward P. Pizer) George W. The Board heard the appeal of Jeremy Cyril Romanovsky of appraised valuations of his six Village Green Cbndominiun Units, Chapel Hill Township, Tax Map 77A, Block A, Lots 6, 10, 22, 23, 20; Tax map 77A,._31ock E, Lot 11; although Mr. Romanovsky was not able to appear; and the appeal of D, St. Pierre and Valinda Hill DuBVSe from the Tax Supervisor's decision denying appli- cations for present use value assessment of Two parcels Chapel Hill Township, Map 52, Lot 6; Eno Township, Map 19, Lot 9. The board by appropriate Order reduced the 1974 assessment of Simon F. Terrell's house and lot from 553,500 to $51.,400; reduced the valuation of Kenneth 3. Garrison, Jr. Lot from $5,400 to 53,400 by reducing the valuation of lots per front foot on Joyce Road and Gwen Road in Hillsborough Township, Map 6A, from 527.00 to 517.00; affirmed the present valuation of the property of Jeremy C. Romanovsky. There being no further business to come befor the 9oard, the meeting was adjourned to met again on Monday, December 23rd, 1974 at 8:00 P.M. to continue consideration of these assessments.
