PURPOSE: To appoint John Roberts tv the' position of orange County Attorney effective April
23, 2099 and to confirm the terms of the appointment.
BACKGRL7UND: The Board of Commissioners has concluded the search for a County
Attorney and has reached agreement with John Roberts, the person selected for the
appointment, on the terms of the appointment. The terms of the appointment are contained in
the.attached resolution ofthe Board.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for the pay and benefits far the County Attorney ,for the 2998-
2009fiscal year is included in the BC~CC-approved 290809 budget.
RECOMMENDATION~S~~ Approve the resolution appointing John Roberts to the position of
Urange County Attorney and confirming the terms of that appointment
