BACKGROUND: The Boazd of Commissioners requested that staff prepare a report about items that will likely need to be considered at the Board's remaining regular meetings in FY 1998-99. Department heads were surveyed and the items on the attached list were identified as likely agenda items for either the June 1 or June 21 meetings. Additional items may subsequently be identified as requiring the Board's attention, and some items on the tentative list may be able to be delayed or eliminated. In the coming month, staff will be preparing a draft list of issues that the Board will need to address during the remainder of calendaz yeaz 1999. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct fmancial impact related to reviewing this list. Individual agenda items that may be considered at the June 1 or June 21 meetings will have an assessment of their financial impact (if any) noted on the individual agenda abstracts. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Boazd receive the report for information only. Some routine recurring items (e.g. minutes, appointments, etc) are not listed, although they may need to be included on one or both meeting agendas. Note that the list of consent items seems unusually long, but the Board usually considers a large number of recurring annual items (such as contract renewals) at the two June Board meetings.
