The Board after aonaidering th®ee app®als took the following lotion:
The .appeals of Mr. and Mrs. Blake were held in abeyance for further
aonaideration; the appeal of Mr. Whitfield of the assessment oP parcel 35-12A
was;to be resolved at a later meeting, while the present assessment of
parcel 35-13 wag deemed proper by the Board; Mr. Jones did not appear;
_. nevertheless, his appeal was heard and the assessment on his lot 5A was
reduced from $1,300 to $900 while the asaeaement of lot 6 wsa reduced from
$15,500 to $1 ,300; the assessment of Mr. awd Mra. Hawkina~ property was
reduced Prom 10,!}00 to $8,100; resolution oP the appeals of Bennett and
Bloakaidge was postponed Por further study; the assessment oP Mr. H. D.
Beanett~a property wsa deemed correct by the Board• the valuation of the
lot owned by Mr. and Mre. Mullen was reduced from 8,100 to $1.,000; the
appeals of the Ridgewood Club of Chapel Hill, Ino. and the E. C. Leonard
Playground Asaociatian were not resolved at this meeting pending further
study; the appeal of Mid-State HomeB, Inc. was considered although no
representative of the vorporation appeared, and the valuation on this property
wsa reduced from $12,900 to $7,9D0.

7:00 P. M. on Tuesday, May 28, 1971F, 3a the Commissioners Room of the Orange
County Courthoua®.
Members Present: Commiasionera: Henry Walker, Richard Whitted, and
Flora Garrett.
Members Abeant: Chairman C. Norman Walker, and Commissioner Melvin
Whitfield.
The Board heard appeals of real property tax assesamenta from the fallowing
property owners for the Sndicsted parcels of property:

The Board took the following aotion on the above appeals:
The appeal of Mr. Simmons was not resolved pending further study; the
assessment of the property Por which Mr. Ivan H111 serves as trustee was
reduced by the Board from $11;0,200 to $95,300; the Board resnhed no decision
- on the appeal of Mr. tames W. Lester to allow more study of this assessment;
the assessment of the property of Triem, Ino. was reduced from $16!},500 to
$153,000; resolution of appeals by Mr. M. B, Baker, the Conners, and the
Martindalea was postponed pending Pother oonaideration; the Board resolved

the appeal of Mre. Hattie D. Sparrow hdard May 9, 1974, of the seaeeasnent of her property
iu Chapel Hill Township (128-C-$) by reducing this assessment Prom $1,F9,800 to #38,800.

Review the meeting was adjourned.
