The assessment of Mr. Arthur A11en+a property was reduced from $22,100 to $21,600;
the assessment of the:praperty of Mr. W. F. Marring was reduced Prom $17,900 to
$14,900; tha.asaesameat of the Griffis paroal 5-4 was not changed; the seaeeassent of
th®:Griffin paroal 5-23 was reduced Pram $15,700 to`$13,300; the assessment of the
Griffin parcel 5-24 was reduced from $1,100 to $8D0; resolution of the Clayton Hamby
appeal was postponed to allow further study; the assaaement of the Mary Belvin Hrs.
roperty was deemed proper without change; the Williams assessment was reduoed from

asaeaameat of the property of Mr. Richard Bateman was oorrected to $17,900 frogs
$30,600; the appeal of Mr. Ralph Burraugha xas oonaidered by the Board although he

was reduoed from $5,700 to ,300; the valuations of parcel 124-B=6 was rednced

on Thursday, May 16, 1974, in the Commissioner+a Room oP the Orange County Courthouse.
Members Present: Henry Walker, Riahard Whitted, Flora Garrett, and Melvin
Whitfield.
Members Absent: Chairman C. Norman Walker.
The Board heard appeals of 1974 real property tax assessments from the following

Tha Board after nonaidering these appeals took the following aotion:
The .appeals of Mr. and Mrs. Blake were held in abeyance for further
consideration; the appeal of Mr. Whitfield aT the assessment of parcel 35-12A
was~to be resolved at a later meeting, while the present asaesament of
narael 35-13 wsa deemed proper by the Board; Mr. Jones did net appear;
_ nevertheless, his appeal was heard and the asaesament on his lot 5A was
reduced from $1,300 to $900 while the asaesament oP lot 6 was reduced Prom
*~15,s00 to $1,300; the asaeasmeat;of Mr. and lbs. Hawkine~ property wsa
reduced Pram 10,40p to $8,100; resolution of the appeals of Bennett and
Blockaidge was postponed Por further study; the asaesament of Mr. R. D.
Bennett~a property xsa deemed correct by the Board• the valuation of the
lot owned by P1r. and Mrs. Mullen was reduced from 8,100 to $4 ODO; the
appeals oP the Ridgewood Club oP Chapel Hill, Ina. and the E. C. Leonard
Playground Association were not resolved at this meeting pending further
study; the appeal oY Mid-State Homes, Inc. was considered although no
representative oP the corporation appeared, and the valuation on this property
was reduced Prom $12,900 tc $7,900.

$153,000; resolution of appeals by Mr. M. R. Baker, the Conners, and the
