PURPOSE: To officially add two special meetings to the Board of County Commissioners'
approved meeting calendar.
BACKGROUND: September 2, 1999 - a joint meeting will be held with OWASA, Orange
County, Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Chatham County for the purpose of discussing water issues. The
meeting will be held on Thursday, September 2, 1999 at Central Carolina Community College,
Highway 64W in Pittsboro, North Carolina at 7:00 p.m. Chatham County is the originating entity
for this meeting which is the reason it will be held in Chatham County.
September 8, 1999 - a joint meeting will be held with the Town of
Hillsborough and the Orange County and Hillsborough Planning Boards for the purpose of
discussing issues related to a proposed commercial and residential development. The meeting will
be held on Wednesday, September 8, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. in Superior Courtroom of the new County
courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATON(S): Approve adding the two meetings listed above to the BOCC regular
meeting calendar for 1999.
