Brown ,q, Moses Carey, Jr. '~" Barry Jacobs ~' To: John Link, Manager ~'or ~yo° fh 4Caco Subject: Orange County Owned Space at West Franklin Street From: Moses Carey, Jr. Date: august 31, 1999 As you may be aware, I asked our Orange County Representatives on the IFC/Shelter Space/Location Committee to present in concept a plan that would have the IFC administrative offices housed in the currently leased space on West Franklin after the leases run out. This proposal was in concept only since I did not have any details about the need for space and the amount of space that would be available if we chose to use that space for their offices under some sort of long term lease. The proposal is a simple one. It would require the IFC to find temporary space to meet their needs until the current leases expire. They have already done this (three-year lease with option to extend). The County would not renew the current leases and would lease the space to the IFC to meet their needs. The terms of the CountyllFC lease would have to be determined. This would serve the needs of the clients who frequent the IFC in a manner that would permit them to walk to receive the services they need at the skills development center. This option is one that will be considered by the committee. Therefore, I ask that you provide me and the committee with any information related to the space available at that location, the terms of the leases currently in effect, and any other information you believe is relevant to this conceptual plan.
