A. Ward, it was moved and ado ted, that the County not eaeroiae its option to
purchase the one hundred (100 acres located in Cheeks Township.
There being no further businasa to come before the Board the meeting
was adjourned to meet again on Monday, July 24, 1972, at 8 P.M. in the Diatriat
Courtroom. _

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Board oP Commissioners oP Grange County met in adjourned session
in the District Courtroom of the Courthouse in Hillsborovgh, North~Carolina
on Monday, July 24, 1972, at 8 P.M.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William
C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward.
Members Absent: Commissioner C. Norman Walker.
Chairman Bennett stated that this was the time and place for the public
hearing and read the following notioe:
TO TBE CITIZENS OF ORANGE COUNTY:
TAKE NOTICE that a petition has been filed with the Board of --
Commissioners of Orange County requesting the re-location of the
common boundary line between the Orange County Rural Fire Department
District and the Efland Fire Department District. Said re-location
would add to the Efland Fire Department District and delete from
the Orange County Rural Fire Department District the following
described area:
BEGINNING at a point where S.R. 1332 interseata with the Eno
River; thence with S.R. 1332 in a Northwesterly direction to
its intersection with S.R. l00)a.; thence with S.R. 1001} in a
Southerly direction to its intersection with U. S. Highway 70;
thenoe with Bighway 70 West to its intersection with S.R.
1316; thenoe with S.R. 1316 in a Southerly direction to its
intersection with S.R. 1377; thenoe with 3.R. 1377 in a
Southerly direction to its intersection with S.R. 111F1G;
thence with S.R. 11!}!F in an easterly direction to a point where
said road arosaea the Eno River; thence with the Eno River in
s Northerly direction to a point where it intersects with
S.R. 1332, the place and point of beginning.
A public hearing will be held en the petition in the Courtroom
of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Monday,
July 21}, 1972, at 8:00 o~oloak p.m.

PETITION
The undersigned, being all of the Fire Protection Commissioners of the
Orange Rural Firs Department District and the Efland Fare Department District,
do hereby petition the Board of County Commissioners of Orange County, North
Carolina sa follows:
To re-leoate the common boundary line between the Orange County Rural
Fire Department Diatriat and Efland Fire Department Diatriat pursuant to the
authority granted by, G.S. 69-25.11 (3). Said re-location is to add to the
Efland Fire Department District and delete Prom the Orange Rural Fire
Department District the following described area:
BEsINNING at a point where S.R. 1332 intersects with the
Ena River; thence with S.R. 1332 in a Northwesterly direction to its
intersection with S.R. 100!}; thence with S.R. 100!} in a Southerly
direction to its intersection with U.S. Highway 70; theme with
Highway 70 West to its intersection with S.R. 1316; thence with S.R.
1316 in a Southerly direction to its intersection with S. R. 1377;
thenoe with S.R. 1377 in a Southerly direction to its intersection
wins S.R. 111G1.; thence with S.R. 171}!} in an easterly direotion to a
point where said road crosses the Eno River; thenoe with the Eno River in
a Northerly direction to a point where it intersects with S.R. 1332,
the place and point of beginning.
The undersigned Fire Proteotion Commissioners respectfully request that
the Board of County Commissioners set a date Por a public hearing on this
petition and publish notice sa required by law.
Chairman Bennett recognized Alonzo Nenion. Mr. genion inquired into
the background of the request for the changing of the district fire protection
lines. Chairman Bennett advised Mr. Senion that the requested change was being
made in order to add to the Efland FYre Department District aisd.-tc.dela'te the
Efland area from the Orange Rural Fire Proteation Diatriat. No other persona
appeared to speak either in approval or disapproval of the petition.
Upon motion of Commissioner Renry S. Walker, seaondad by Coa'miisaioae_r
William C. Ray, it was moved and adopted, that the area described in the
public notice and the petition from the Pire protection district aoamiiasionera
be transferred from the Orange Rural Fire Proteation Distriot into the
Efland Rural Fire Protection District.
Upon motion of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, ascended by Commi.asioner Ira

the General Statutes) and any other aeationa of the General Statutes so
permitting, there are hereby levied privilege license taxes in the maximum
amount permitted on all businesses, trades, occupations, or professions
which the County 3.s entitled to tax.
For purposes of financing the previously approved appropriations funds
to finance the following listed items will be derived from revenues obtained

Chairman Bennett was authorized to sign the certificate of approval on the
plats Por the property of Soe Cameron in Eno Township the subdivision of 1.01
acres from a largger treat oa SR #1002 Teeny Development Company two (2)
acres on SR #1944 between property of Ed Teeny and.Raymgnd Andrews.
There being nq further business to some before the Board°~the meeting was
