MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMM2SSIONER3
November 2g, 1971
The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in the Commissioners
Room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough at 2 o'clock P.M. on Monday, November
29, 1971, in adjourned session.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett and Commissioners Henry S.
Walker and William C. Ray.
Members Absent: Commissioners Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker.
- W. P. FIupman, of the Mebane Industry Development Commission, Clem Mosley,
of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Coleman of Daniels Construotian
Companq were also present.
This meeting was held for the purpose of discussing with Representatives
present the possibility oP Orange County extending its xatar and sewer 13nea to
provide services to a proposed plant in the Industrial Park area. The coat
of extending these facilities is estimated to be 'between $30,000 to $35,000.
Diaausaian ensued. Chairman Bennett requested Mr. Coleman to disausa, with
his principal, the possibility of their paging a portion oP the aoet for these
facilities. -
There being no further buainesa to some before the Board the meeting was
adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, November 30, 1971.

The Board of County Comaisaionera of Orange County met in adjourned session
in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough on Tueadaq, November
30, 1971, at 8:00 o~aloak P.M.
Members Present: Chairman Harney D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C.
Ray, Henry S. Walker, Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker.
Members Absent: Nona
~'" This meeting was held for the pvrpos® of disoussing the possibility of
extending water and sewerage lines in the Mebane area to an induatrq who was
desirous of boating on a tract oP land just West of the Peaches N Cream plant.
The Board agreed that tlseq were interested 3n having the proposed plant locate
on this site, however, it was their opinion that the County could not nary from
3ta previous polioy of charging four hundred dolless ($L~00.00) per line Por the
water and sewerage tap fee. It was the consensus of the Board that the proposed
industry was willing to pay the tap Pee which would help defraq a portion of the
coat of extending the linea.ahen the County would be willing to approve the
necessary extension.
