:The 'Board oP County Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned
session at 8:00 o~alock P.M. on Tuesday, August 2!}, 1971, in the Commissioners
Room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners ldilliam
C. Ray, Henry S. Walker, xra A. Wa-rd and C. Norman Walker.
Members Absent: None -
Mr. Wi7.liam Graham, Assistant District Solicitor, was present and
requested the Board of Commissioners make available for the Solicitors use
offioe space either wit„3n or without the County Courthouse. Mr. Graham
pointed out that in his opinion it would be permissible to pay rent for this
space from the Facilities Fund.
Upon motion of Commissioner C. Norman Walker, seconded by Commissioner
Wi113am C. Ray, it was moved and unanimously adopted, that the County provide
office space for the Solicitor either i.r_ the Courthouse or by renting a
nearby offioe.
The County Administrator recommended that Martin Evans be appointed
Assistant Electrical Inspector for Orange Geunty.
Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, seconded by Commiseiener
Henry S. Walker, it was moved and unanimously adopted, that Martin Evans
be appointed Assistant Eleetriaal Inspector for Orange County.
_ •The following Resolution was unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS, the Valley Forge Corporation is to construct a
manufacturing plant near the intersection of N. C. 86 and x-ay and
ti,~RFOS, the County is desirous oP assisting in aa3d construction
by making water and sewer available to auoh location and
WHEREAS, the twelve inch (12") water line running along'
highway 70-A from its intersection with SR 1009 is an essential ~
link with, the municipal water system of the Town of Hillsborough.
- NOw, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOZVED, That the County of Orange
does agree to pay the sum of $10,2311.02 to John Mansville Company,
Inc. as an initial contribution towards the construction of the
aforesaid water lines upon condition that the County shall be
re-~.mbursed this sum of money from the sale of water flowing through •
the aforesaid twelve inch (7,2") lines in accordance with an agreement
heretofore entered into~~,.•-""'
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting I
was adjourned.
